NGHAI 2016 Report
Next Generation Human-Agent Interaction Workshop 2016 (NGHAI2016) was held on October 4th 2016 in conjunction with the 4th International Conference on Human-Agent Interaction (HAI2016).
In spite of the first time, 35 people participated the workshop and made active discussions.
The participants were students, postdoc researchers, and senior scholars.
The workshop began with opening and ice breaking that warmed up the participants. In oral session, seven students and young researchers presented their work, and made discussions in poster session. In group activity, each participant chose a keyword and formed five groups. They discussed the theme of "HAI and something in Ten Years." The word "something" in the theme was replaced with the keyword chosen in each group. The groups summarized and presented their discussions at the last of the workshop. A group with a theme of "HAI and 'Food' in Ten Years" described a future restaurant that reproduces taste of famous chef and memorable taste of home-made dishes. Some ideas of the future restaurant were conceived from the work presented in the oral session. Another group with a theme of "HAI and 'History and Ghost' in Ten Years" presented an idea that brings historical people back into existence by using HAI technology. Through the whole workshop, the participants experienced valuable time: becoming familiar with each other, sharing their knowledge, and discussing HAI theme for Next Generation.
